El Paso County Wagon Train

July 23rd and 24th, 2011

This is outside of Colorado Springs, Colorado. The first day leaves from a ranch. The train goes out about 3 miles eats lunch and comes back. This is called the test drive. The second day leaves from the ranch and goes out 19 miles. The end of this drive is into the El Paso County Fair and kicks off their event. Breakfast and lunch are provided. Plenty of stalls and places to dry camp. For more information contact Don at (719)541-2736 or Baileysaddle@aol.com  

This is a very inexpensive event and everyone is welcome.

 

Summer Drive/Ride: June 25th, 2011DONE

  • This will be about a 2-3 hour drive with with a lunch break and then 2-3 hours back to the ranch.  There are long hills so your horses need to be in shape.  Outriders are welcome and appreciated.  This will be a ride/drive along the Control Road so make sure your horses are traffic safe with cars and quads.  There is a water crossing leaving the ranch so make sure your horses will cross water. 

    When we get back to the ranch hot dogs, hamburgers will be provided.  Bring a pot luck dish to share.

Fun Drive: May 22nd, 2010DONE

 

May 22nd the Parkison's and the Daugherty's will be doing a fun drive off of Stoneman Lake Road, this is also called the Apache Maid area. This is about 30 minutes from Camp Verde and is up in the pines. This is NOT a club sanctioned event, just fun and informal. This area has a lot of forest service roads to explore. 

 

Spring Trail Drive: April 10th, 2010 DONE

  • Our first event will be Saturday, April 10th for a "SPRING RIDE/DRIVE" to look at all the spring flowers.  It will be hosted by Wendy and Jay Parkison.  If you have ever wanted to drive in the scenic red rocks of Sedona without the worry of being run over by a distracted tourist or pay for a red rock pass this is the drive for you!
